Jessica's African Violet Expedition

I have three roughly 6 ft. by 4 ft. metal stands that I keep my African Violets,

Streps, & Epsicias on.  I use 2 bulb 4 ft. fluorescent shop lights.  I have a plant

grow bulb in one side and a regular cool white in the other side.  I grow my

standards 10 inches from the lights and my mini/semimini 8 inches away from the

lights.

I use a mixture of commercially available African Violet soil, Perlite, and

Diatomaceous Earth.  I pot my violets in plastic african violet pots.  I do not use

the self watering violets pots, they didn't work for me.  I top water all my

violets.  I water with warm tap water.  I rotate watering my violets with Plain

Water, Miracle Grow African Violet Plant Food 7-7-7, Schultz 8-14-9,& Fish

Emulsion (which is awesome!!) probably once a month.
